In 2019, our founder suddenly fell unwell, with her life upturned with serious symptoms and unable to walk. She had a great support system with friends, family and even work. She went looking for people online to talk to with similar health issues, but found there was nothing. It was inundated with fake profiles, 'trolling', lack of safety and made her feel more isolated as a result.
After extensive research, working with various research programs and other people in similar situations online, it was clear there is a loneliness crisis and a solution is needed. We live in a 'connected' world yet remain the most disconnected population of all time. We are here to change this.
Beluga Pods has been created to provide the safe and interactive virtual space for you to take back control. Bridging the online with the offline, to help us reconnect to real life.
Whether you’re recently unwell, become a carer, moved to a new area, we provide the welcoming and private space in our pod-like system to support yourself and make new friends. Navigate life's challenges, ups and downs, privately, at your discretion.
